How it all started

Rotan grew out of Eco Communities UK CIC, a volunteer-led community interest company based in Cheshire.. Helen Tandy founded it in 2018 after campaigning for Plastic Free Chester.

The Full Circle Refill project started in 2025 small, refilling bottles and supplying eco products to a local hub. As more hubs opened and the range grew, it was clear that running the eco product side had grown so much and delivering only to the hubs, wasn't the best way to get these products to the people who wanted them.

So we created rotan. Full Circle Refill stays at the heart of Eco Communities, and rotan lets us deliver eco home goods, party items and gifts across the UK, reaching people wherever they live.

Who we are

rotan is a small business run by Helen and Robert Tandy.

Robert has spent the past year refilling bottles at the Full Circle Refill warehouse, and he still runs it today on a voluntary basis. At rotan, he looks after orders, stock and deliveries — so he's the one packing your parcel.

Helen looks after the shop itself, the marketing and our social media. She's also behind our making workshops, which are coming soon.

What we sell

We look for things that are useful, lovely and made to last — and that are kinder to the planet along the way.

Kitchen: eco kitchen essentials, including home compostable items made from sustainable materials
Bathroom: natural loofahs, konjac sponges, coconut scrubs and bamboo
Gifts for adults and kids: candles, cosy textiles and thoughtful presents that won't end up in a drawer

You'll find plenty of jute, bamboo, cork and coconut in our range — all naturally renewable materials. Our fabrics are recycled, felt or organic cotton.

Who we buy from

Wherever we can, we buy from B Corp certified businesses and independent makers and retailers where possible. When you shop with us, you're usually supporting other small businesses doing things the right way too.
